Inclusive Volunteer Programme

Inclusive roles designed to support every volunteer
Our Inclusive Volunteer Programme provides opportunities for people of all abilities to be part of the Willowbank team. We believe everyone should have the chance to connect with nature, contribute to conservation, and gain meaningful experience in a supportive and welcoming environment. Volunteers who require additional support to carry out their role are welcome to participate; however, they will need to provide their own support person to assist them during their time at Willowbank.

Join Willowbank’s Inclusive Volunteer Programme and contribute to our work in a supportive environment. This role is designed for people of all abilities, with the option to bring a support person if assistance is needed, allowing everyone the chance to connect with nature and wildlife while gaining meaningful experience.

About the Role

Tasks will always be assigned with consideration for safety, ability, and appropriate support.

  • Reliability and commitment to agreed volunteer days

  • Ability to follow instructions and Willowbank policies

  • Respect for animals, staff, volunteers, and visitors

Support Person Requirement
Volunteers who require assistance to carry out their role are welcome to participate; however, they must provide their own support person.

  • Provision of Support Person: Volunteers are responsible for arranging and ensuring the presence of their support person during volunteer activities. The same support person must attend each time the volunteer participates.

  • Remuneration and Expenses: The volunteer is responsible for all remuneration and expenses associated with their support person, including wages, travel, meals, accommodation, and any other related costs.

  • Qualifications and Conduct: The support person must be capable of providing the required assistance. Both the volunteer and the support person must follow Willowbank Wildlife Reserve’s policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
