Child Annual Pass

$28.00 per year

One named child, aged 5-15 years Membership is for the named, photographed child and cannot be used by anyone else. The child must be accompanied by an adult for entry to be accepted.

Adult Annual Pass

$82.00 per year

One named adult, aged 16 years + Membership is for the named, photographed adult and cannot be used by anyone else.

Plus One Annual Pass

$118.00 per year

One named child 5-15 years, and ANY one accompanying adult Membership is for the named, photographed child, who may bring one accompanying adult and cannot be used by an adult without the named child. Membership can be purchased for adult Hapai cardholders who require a carer or support person when visiting.

Family Annual Pass

$185.00 per year

Two named adults and ANY three children Membership includes any three children aged 5-15 years. Membership is for the two adults who are named and photographed. Children must be accompanied by at least one of the adult holders.

Renew online before your membership runs out to receive a 10% discount off your membership fee.  To do this, you need to follow the registration email instructions sent to you at first purchase.  This gives you a login to the members area which is reached by clicking on the button located at the top of the ecommerce pages on our website. 

Membership & Activation

  • Annual passes can be purchased online and are activated on the first visit.

  • A membership card will be issued upon activation.

  • A valid membership card must be presented on each visit to receive entry and any associated benefits.

  • Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of activation.

  • Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Only those named and photographed on the membership card may use the pass.

  • Hāpai (KiwiAble) Access Card holders who require a carer must purchase a PlusOne membership.

  • Carers are not eligible for free entry on standard adult or child annual passes.

  • Willowbank is open 364 days a year and closed on Christmas Day.

  • An adult is defined as 16+ years, a child as 5–15 years, and preschoolers (0–4 years) receive free entry.

  • All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Pass Types

  • Family passes do not require children to be named; however, children must be accompanied by the named adult pass holder to receive complimentary entry.

  • The PlusOne membership allows entry for one accompanying adult where applicable.

Member Benefits

  • Membership benefits (excluding free admission) are subject to change at the discretion of Willowbank.

  • Discounted guest entry is available Monday to Friday during term time only.

  • Guest discounts do not apply on public holidays or during state primary school holidays.

  • Annual passes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers, promotions, discounted products, or education/school bookings, unless otherwise stated.

Upgrades & Renewals

  • “Try before you buy” applies to same-day visits only.

  • A 10% discount applies to memberships renewed online before the current membership expires.

Amazing for young kids!

This was amazing for a toddler. You can feed the birds and the farm animals. They were all so friendly and gentle. My 2 year old loved it. For the adults it was also a nice experience since you are inside the enclosures with most of the birds. We went on a Sunday and it was not to busy. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing Encounters

Feed the Animals!

Beautifully designed wildlife park with plenty of space for the animals, all of which look very well cared for. Many of the animals can be fed.

Great fun afternoon viewing all the various animals and birds on display, even managing to see three kiwis in their enclosure. Well laid out park, accessible for all on boardwalks and paths with helpful signage outside each enclosure.

Must Do in Christchurch!

Amazing experience and a must to do in Christchurch. The staff that did the Madagascar lemur encounter very knowledgeable and friendly made the experience fun so were the staff in the cafe so much fun and great service food exceptional.

What an Amazing Gem

What an amazing gem. We had booked a Guided Tour as we really wanted to see the Kiwis. The facilities conservation program is top notch and their knowledge of the kiwis was considerable. In addition to the Kiwis we also saw several other endangered native New Zealand Birds. Their enclosures are very much like it would be in the wild for them. After our tour we wandered around the rest of the facilities and saw what a great place it is for families. The excitement we saw in all the children was palpable. What a lovely way to spend several hours.

Fun Afternoon

As soon as we checked into our Christchurch hotel, we immediately drove to Willowbank Wildlife Reserve. We were amazed to see not just the native New Zealand animals, but also unique animals from around the world. All animals are easily viewed and there are some instances where you can actually walk among them. We were fortunate to go to the darkened kiwi habitat. Be sure to take 10 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the darkness. After adjusting to the dark, my husband and I each spotted kiwis in their enclosures. We would highly recommend a trip to this reserve.
