Calling all animal lovers aged 10–14! Our Junior Keeper programmes give kids a hands-on, behind-the-scenes experience feeding and caring for our animals. Choose the standard Junior Keeper or go further with Junior Keeper PLUS to learn about bees and beekeeping. Fun, educational, and messy — all activities include lunch, a Willowbank hat, and plenty of wildlife adventures!

Junior Keeper Programme

For children aged 10–14 who love animals, the Junior Keeper programme offers a behind-the-scenes, hands-on experience feeding and caring for our wildlife alongside a real keeper. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and is all-weather and sometimes messy, so children should come dressed appropriately with closed-toe shoes.

Junior Keeper Plus

The Junior Keeper PLUS programme is for children aged 10–14 who want to go even further! In addition to hands-on animal care, participants learn about bees and beekeeping using real hives. Sessions run from 9:30am to 3:30pm and are all-weather and sometimes messy, so children should come dressed appropriately with closed-toe shoes and gumboots for bee protection.
